Days since my last post: 13
*Gasp* Have I really abandoned my blog for close to 2 weeks now? It seems like a stretch, but I'm back with a little excitement for the next 2 weeks in this space. And why, you may ask?
Because MI got lucky!
Okay, that was a terrible pun attempt. But yes, I got really lucky with Xiaomi Malaysia last week as they picked out 15 users to try out the brand new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 that will officially hit shores in April! Wait, WHAT? April? That's right, I get the use the phone about 2 weeks before everyone else does!
Lucky MI! (I think this pun worked better, no?)
I couldn't believe my eyes when the e-mail first hit me that I've been picked, and found it even harder to trust when I held the phone in my hands about 3 days later. I fell in love immediately. Boasting an aluminium body with rounded edges along the sides, the phone slid comfortably within my palms and it felt like the most perfect fit ever. I'm just that little bit ashamed to say it feels even better than my very own Note 3.
But all talk is no play, which is why I've come up with an unboxing video so you get a glimpse of what to expect when the box reaches your hands. Bear in mind though that I'm no professional, so you don't get any high class shots or tech talks. Just pure honesty and whatever comes in mind.
Breakout days, so you get to see just my hands and neck.
I'm guessing however that no phone talk is complete unless you explain a little more about what's INSIDE it, but I'm really no genius in that department. So here's what I caught from my trusty phone site where I get every inch of phone knowledge: GSMArena.
- Aluminium body
- 5.5-inch screen, with 1920 x 1080 IPS LCD
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 650; 2x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 + 4x 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53; Adreno 510
- 3 GB RAM with 32 GB memory; microSD support possible
- Dual SIM, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, IR, microUSB
- 16 megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f2.0 aperture, dual LED flash
- 5 megapixel front camera, f2.0 aperture
- Fingerprint sensor (As mentioned in the video!)
- 4050mAh battery
- Android 5.1.1 with MIUI 7
In the box: The glorious phone, a charging cable, an adapter, and a SIM slot pin.
Next up will definitely be the phone at a glance but until then, MI be going now. I'm sorry. I tried.
